Parish President Joins Congressmen to Discuss Flood Insurance and Risk Rating Programs

Lafourche Parish President Archie Chaisson was proud to join Congressman Steve Scalise and Congressman French Hill to talk about the issues surrounding the National Flood Insurance Program and Risk Rating 2.0.

“We continue to work with our Federal Delegation to solve the issues of transparency and affordability with the National Flood Insurance Program. Every day that FEMA continues to implement this flawed program is another day that our residents have to face rising insurance prices and decisions about whether or not they can continue to live in Lafourche Parish,” said President Chaisson.

“I want to thank Congressman Scalise for his leadership on this issue and for bringing down Congressman French from Arkansas. Having other members of Congress take notice of this issue and how it will eventually impact their constituents will go a long way in making our coalition stronger to ultimately solve the issue,” said President Chaisson.

President Chaisson was also joined by other Parish Presidents, GLPC Executive Director Chett Chiasson, NLLD Executive Director Dwayne Bourgeois, along with members of the insurance, banking, and home builders associations. Port Fourchon, North Lafourche Levee District
