Planning

The Planning Department assists landowners and developers in the development of land in the unincorporated areas of Lafourche Parish, which includes new Subdivisions, Family Subdivisions, Re-division of existing properties, Mobile Home Parks and RV Parks. Land use is not determined through Planning since the unincorporated areas of the Parish have no zoning regulations. The Department also assists in verifying if properties were approved for division. All items submitted to go before the Lafourche Parish Planning Commission for review is organized through the Planning Department. A Comprehensive Resiliency Plan (Parish Master Plan) has been adopted and implementation of the plan will be through the Planning Department. Our goal is to assist the residents of Lafourche Parish by providing them with information needed to proceed with development.
