Community Service

what do we do?

The mission of the Community Services Department is to provide resources that enhance the quality of life for residents throughout Lafourche Parish. The Parks and Recreation districts provide quality programs, activities and facilities for families to enjoy. Community Action and its governing board offers a safety net that promotes education, works to prevent homelessness and hunger and encourages involvement. Lastly, Head Start schools promote growth and development of preschool children by offering health, education and social services to parents and families that encourages learning and wellness.
