Community Action

what do we do?

The office of Community Action is dedicated to improving the lives of Lafourche Parish low-income families. The agency is able to provide an array of services to help families become economically stable with funding received from federal, state, and local levels. According to the participant’s needs, the agency is allowed to pay for rent/mortgage, utility assistance, higher education tuition and book assistance, commodity distribution and food vouchers, school uniforms, funeral assistance, emergency lodging, prescription assistance, and summer employment program. Households must meet income guidelines for this program. All eligible working clients must complete a job referral form and register with LA Works. Our team of professionals look forward to serving you and your family.
