On Thursday, June 11, 2026, Lafourche Parish President Mitch Orgeron joined Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, President of Shell USA Colette Hirstius, and Vice President of Shell Midstream Sean Guillory in Port Fourchon for the Shell MARS Platform 1 billion barrels of oil celebration! This historic event again highlights the importance of our Port and the important role that Lafourche Parish plays in not only the national but the global energy market. We look forward to continuing to partner with Shell and making the next billion barrels possible.
Also on hand to celebrate were Parish Councilmembers Terry Arabie, Armand “Noonie” Autin, Daniel Lorraine, State Senator “Big Mike” Fesi, and State Representative Joseph Orgeron.
