Yesterday, Parish President Mitch Orgeron joined Ducks Unlimited, the Lafourche Parish Coastal Zone Management Department, and many partners for a project dedication event to highlight the Port Fourchon Terraces & Living Shoreline project. The project includes 87,000 linear feet of earthen terraces & 4,000 linear feet of living shoreline. The project not only enhances critical wetlands but also serves as protection to Highway 1. We are thankful for the many partners and volunteers who supported this project.
We look forward to seeing more projects like this be constructed in the future!
