DOTD has provided Parish President Mitch Orgeron with the following update. The project was let on September 9, 2026, and awarded to James Construction at a contract cost of $5.1 million. The Notice to Proceed was issued on October 13, 2026, and the project is currently within its 30-day assembly period.
Entergy has installed new utility poles and is awaiting the relocation of communication lines before removing the existing poles. Utility relocations are anticipated to be completed next week.
The contractor plans to mobilize and begin construction on Wednesday, November 11, 2026. Piles have been released for fabrication, and the project is currently scheduled for completion in May 2027.
Please note that the contractor intends to work seven days a week, weather permitting, to maintain the project schedule.
