During the March 10th Parish Council meeting, Councilwoman D’lynn Chiasson presented Allie Melancon with the Lafourche Parish Outstanding Citizen Award! This award was given for her life-saving work done on February 18th, 2026, Allie was practicing with her softball team when one of the players’ dad collapsed to the ground. Allie began CPR immediately and worked on him until the first responders could arrive. She knew exactly what to do. She stayed calm and kept her composure to help save her friend’s life. She grew up with her Dad, Pete Melancon, who was involved in the Cut Off Fire Department. She has been to many rescue scenes and has seen CPR in action, and she knew exactly what to do. She never thought that one day she would save someone’s life.
