LOCATION: Thibodaux Complex
Nature of Job: Responsible for the supervision and control of the general accounting functions of the Lafourche Parish Finance Department. This includes the general ledger, payables, payroll, property, budget reporting, and statistical accumulation. Responsibilities also include for financial statement and report preparation on a regular and special request basis; assisting departments with annual budget preparation and budget reviews; and reviewing entries to the general and statistical ledgers to ensure accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
Substitution 1: High School Diploma and three (3) to five (5) years accounting experience
*Substantial knowledge of laws and regulations governing fiscal record keeping preferred.
A valid driver’s license issued by a state other than Louisiana is acceptable for application; however, once an employment offer is extended for a position, an applicant will have thirty (30) days to obtain the required Louisiana license. Failure to obtain a Louisiana driver’s license may disqualify an applicant from permanent employment in any position. Maintains acceptable driving record in addition to a valid Louisiana license.
