OCA focuses on families building partnerships to help make a difference in the lives of families. We are dedicated to the mission of providing resources, services and fostering partnerships in Lafourche that will enable low-income individuals to attain the skills, knowledge and motivations and secure the opportunities needed for them to achieve self-sufficiency, enhance family stability and revitalize their community.

Our Governor, Kathleen Blanco, has taken a course of action designed to find a solution to poverty in Louisiana. Lafourche Community Action Agency has committed itself to mobilizing all available resources to help find a solution to poverty in Lafourche Parish. Today, we are organizing all available local resources, recruiting volunteers, building partnerships and closing the gaps to win this war that will result in lives being changed and greater self- sufficiency for all families in Lafourche.

In order to maintain our promise and fulfill our mission, we need to continue the effort to eliminate the causes and conditions of poverty. We will continue to empower individuals and families to live safely with planning and promoting an effective, integrated, accessible system for the delivery of support and services.
