    According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), the West Larose Lift Bridge on LA 1, crossing the Intracoastal Waterway, will be completely closed to motorists for three months, beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26.

  • PRECAUTIONARY 60-DAY FREE CHLORINE BURN STARTED FOR WATER CUSTOMERS IN MARYDALE SUBDIVISION, GRAND BOIS & ROMERO SUBDIVISION (BAYOU BLUE)

    The Lafourche Parish Water District No. 1 purchases water from Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Waterworks, Schriever Plant, for the areas of Marydale Subdivision, Grand Bois, and Romero Subdivision (Romero Street, Bayou Blue).

  • NOTICE: MAINTENANCE DREDGING IN BELLE PASS

    According to the Greater Lafourche Port Commission and Port Fourchon Harbor Police, the Corps of Engineers dredge is expected to arrive in Port Fourchon this week (Aug. 17-21) to begin maintenance dredging in Belle Pass. The dredge will be working approximately 3-4 weeks to complete work on the lower channel, with an additional 1-2 weeks on the optional work further up the channel.

    The South Lafourche Levee District advises due to high water levels, the Ted Gisclair Floodgate in Larose is now closed with regularly scheduled openings at 6 a.m., 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

    According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), the West Larose Lift Bridge on LA 1, crossing the Intracoastal Waterway, will experience alternating lane closures beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, ending between 3:30 and 5 p.m. daily.

  • UPDATE: BRIEF CLOSURE OF BAYOU LAFOURCHE IN PORT FOURCHON HAS BEEN POSTPONED

    According to the Greater Lafourche Port Commission and Port Fourchon Harbor Police, Coastal Dredging has advised the submerging of the dredge line that was scheduled for today, Aug. 12, has been postponed until 9 a.m. tomorrow, Aug. 13. Bayou Lafourche will be closed between C-Port 1 and Flotation Canal, in the area just north of C-Port 1, while dredging contractors install submerged dredge line. Expect temporary delays for up to 2 hours while the line is being submerged.

  • Boil Advisory Lifted

    Investigation samples analyzed by the LA Department of Health indicate that the Lafourche Parish Water District's boil water advisory for the Grand Bois area can be lifted. All customers in the affected area can resume normal water consumption at this time.

    The Galliano Bridge will be closed today, Thursday, May 9, 2019 until further notice due to an oil spill on the bridge. The bridge will re-open as soon as this oil spill has been removed.

    The Galliano Pontoon Bridge will be closed on Thursday, May 2, 2019, to replace the hydraulic motor on the LA 308 side, from 8:30 a.m. until the job is completed. The bridge will be closed to both vehicular and marine traffic.
