According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), the West Larose Lift Bridge on LA 1, crossing the Intracoastal Waterway, will be completely closed to motorists for three months, beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26.

The Lafourche Parish Water District No. 1 purchases water from Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Waterworks, Schriever Plant, for the areas of Marydale Subdivision, Grand Bois, and Romero Subdivision (Romero Street, Bayou Blue).

According to the Greater Lafourche Port Commission and Port Fourchon Harbor Police, the Corps of Engineers dredge is expected to arrive in Port Fourchon this week (Aug. 17-21) to begin maintenance dredging in Belle Pass. The dredge will be working approximately 3-4 weeks to complete work on the lower channel, with an additional 1-2 weeks on the optional work further up the channel.

The South Lafourche Levee District advises due to high water levels, the Ted Gisclair Floodgate in Larose is now closed with regularly scheduled openings at 6 a.m., 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), the West Larose Lift Bridge on LA 1, crossing the Intracoastal Waterway, will experience alternating lane closures beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, ending between 3:30 and 5 p.m. daily.

According to the Greater Lafourche Port Commission and Port Fourchon Harbor Police, Coastal Dredging has advised the submerging of the dredge line that was scheduled for today, Aug. 12, has been postponed until 9 a.m. tomorrow, Aug. 13. Bayou Lafourche will be closed between C-Port 1 and Flotation Canal, in the area just north of C-Port 1, while dredging contractors install submerged dredge line. Expect temporary delays for up to 2 hours while the line is being submerged.
