PRESS RELEASE: LA HIGHWAY ONE REOPENS Lafourche Parish Government announces LA Highway 1 is now open south of the Leon Theriot Lock in Golden Meadow after workers cleared debris from the roadway. Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office deputies along with Harbor Police will be maintaining a safe speed ahead of traffic to ensure driver safety. Drivers should expect delays.

Lafourche Parish Public Works announces the Cote Blanche Bridge near Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off will be closed today from 12:30pm to 3pm to repair a motor and sprocket.

The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for most of Southeastern Louisiana including Lafourche Parish for Friday through Sunday. Much of this area is already in a severe drought with the next chance of rain late next week.

The Golden Meadow Bridge (LA 308) crossing Bayou Lafourche in Golden Meadow, LA will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday October 8, 2015 in order to allow DOTD’s contractor to perform repairs to one of the gearboxes. The bridge will remain in the “open to marine” position until the repairs are completed.

Louisiana has been successful in Phase 1 of the competition representing Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes. The parishes are hosting a joint public meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, at the North Library, 4130 West Park Avenue, Gray, LA 70359, to discuss both Lafourche and Terrebonne’s long-term futures as well as receive comments and input from the community with a special emphasis being placed on opportunities to build resilience.

NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE: US 90 Eastbound and Westbound, Lafourche & St. Charles Parish Sept. 16, 2015
US 90 Eastbound 1000’ before the Des Allemands bridge, and US 90 Westbound, approximately ½ mile east of the intersection of US 90 and LA 632. The left lane in both directions will be closed starting September 16, 2015, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for median crossover work.

The South Lafourche Levee District advises due to high water levels, the Ted Gisclair Floodgate in Larose is now closed with regularly scheduled openings at 6 a.m., 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Beginning today (Sept. 1), a curfew has been established for vessel traffic from 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. at the T-Bois Bridge in Larose to help alleviate congestion stemming from the closing of the West Larose Lift Bridge on LA 1, crossing the Intracoastal Waterway.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation (LADOTD) is advising motorists the left lane will be blocked on LA 24 West - Park Avenue (Houma to Thibodaux) at US 90 from 8:30 a.m. Monday Aug. 31, through 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, due to road repair work on LA 24 (Park Avenue). Thru traffic will be allowed to pass using the right lane.
