RIBBON CUTTING OFFICIALLY MARKS PERMIT OFFICE OPENING

Mathews, LA – Lafourche Parish President Jimmy Cantrelle cut the ribbon on Wednesday morning to officially open a satellite permit office in Thibodaux.  Cantrelle was joined at the ceremony by Lafourche Parish Council members Michael Gros and Aaron “Bo” Melvin.  “This is a promise I made to help bring government closer and more accessible to people,” Cantrelle said.  “We will also be having a ceremony in South Lafourche soon to mark the opening of the satellite office in Galliano.”

Cantrelle was also joined on Wednesday morning by members of the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce. In noting the occasion, Councilman Melvin said that “this satellite permit office opening is another step in our effort to streamline government and make it more responsive to citizens.” Councilman Gros acknowledged that the office is expected to be a help to local citizens.

“This should make it more convenient to allow people to access services.  We’re trying to make things as convenient as possible.”

The satellite office is located at 2535 Veterans Blvd. in Thibodaux and is open on Monday and Thursday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
