UPDATE: BRIEF CLOSURE OF BAYOU LAFOURCHE IN PORT FOURCHON HAS BEEN POSTPONED

Post Date:08/12/2015 2:23 PM

According to the Greater Lafourche Port Commission and Port Fourchon Harbor Police, Coastal Dredging has advised the submerging of the dredge line that was scheduled for today, Aug. 12, has been postponed until 9 a.m. tomorrow, Aug. 13. Bayou Lafourche will be closed between C-Port 1 and Flotation Canal, in the area just north of C-Port 1, while dredging contractors install submerged dredge line. Expect temporary delays for up to 2 hours while the line is being submerged.

Once the dredge pipe is in place, Coastal Dredging will be dredging in the general vicinity for approximately two weeks. For the duration of the project, mariners should travel at their lowest safe speed to minimize wake and ensure operational safety. Harbor Police Marine Patrol will be monitoring the area to facilitate movements when necessary.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in getting this tenant dredging project completed in a safe and timely manner.
