Public Works

Kerry J. Babin

A Note from the Director:

We in the Lafourche Parish Department of Public Works take our duties and responsibilities seriously. While the department has many infrastructure maintenance responsibilities, providing for and maintaining a dependable and efficient drainage system is the department's primary mission. In addition to keeping culverts, ditches and canals cleared, we constantly monitor the condition of all of our pumps throughout the parish.

Our six strategically located Field Offices are dedicated to servicing the needs of all of the residents of Lafourche. While we continually plan and prepare for hurricane season year-round, we know that flooding rains can occur at any time and we remain vigilant to that threat.

The dedicated men and women in the department work for YOU, and will make every effort to address and resolve any issues or problems you may have. If we may assist you, please feel free to call us, or use the Drainage Issue Form on this website to notify us of your concerns about drainage.

Sincerely,

Kerry J. Babin
Director of Public Works
