Household Hazardous Waste ‘Drop-Off Days’ Scheduled


Lafourche Parish Government will be conducting a Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Program on the
following dates and at the following locations:

* Saturday, October 25th, 2008 from 7am to 5pm in at the Region “A” Field Office located at 2565
Veterans Blvd. in Thibodaux (just past Heroes Park)
* Friday, October 24th, 2008 from 7am to 5pm in the parking lot of the old Wal-Mart Building
located at 4876 Hwy. 1 in Matthews
* Sunday, October 26th, 2008 from 7am to 5pm in the parking lot of the South Lafourche Library
located at 16241 Hwy. 308 in Galliano

Anyone participating will be required to show proof of residency in Lafourche Parish. Valid proof of
residency includes a valid driver’s license or a current month water bill or electric bill
Items generated by commercial business are strictly prohibited. Acceptable items are limited to the
following:
  1. Cleaning Products: (oven cleaners; wood and metal cleaners; toilet and drain cleaners; tub, tile, &
shower cleaners); ammonia, bleach, and pool chemicals
  2. Paints: (oil based, latex & acrylic); stains and finishes; paint thinners/stripper
  3. Flammables: Propane tanks, kerosene, lighter fluids, etc
  4. Automotive Products: gasoline, diesel, motor oil, transmission oil, brake and rear end fluids, WD
40, Freon, antifreeze, & automotive batteries (waste tires are NOT being accepted at this time)
  5. Pesticides & Herbicides: aerosols, liquids, & pellets
  6. Miscellaneous: Sulfuric Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Muratic Acid, and batteries (NiCad, C&D
batteries, etc.)
