Special Needs and Transportation Assistance

Any resident with Special Needs must call the Department of Health & Hospitals Hotline in Thibodaux
at (985) 447-0916 to pre-register. Even if you have called the Lafourche Parish EOC with your
information, you still must call the DHH Hotline to pre-register.
Any resident, including those with Special Needs, can call the Lafourche Parish EOC for transportation
assistance, if you have not already done so. These residents must call (985) 537-7603 as soon as
possible to provide your information if you need transportation assistance.
All “Special Needs” residents requesting transportation assistance from the Parish MUST be
accompanied by a caregiver. Be sure to have all medications with you along with any other supplies
recommended by DHH.
All residents utilizing parish transportation should bring items such as a five-day supply of food and
water per person, money, identification and important papers, bedding and clothing, medications and
first aid, personal hygiene products, toiletries and any other necessities.
